How the Coronavirus (COVID-19) affects both us and yourself

Amid the current concerns surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19, we want to take the opportunity to keep you informed of the steps that we are taking to keep our customers safe, and to prepare for all scenarios. With the Coronavirus now declared as a worldwide pandemic, we would like to remind customers that we are still open as usual but following guidance below.

Level of Service

So far as is possible in these challenging times we are looking to maintain our normal levels of service. We would ask for your patience where we are operating with reduced levels of resource as inevitably we may find some of our team unwell and having to self-isolate. This is an evolving situation and we will continue to take advice from the UK Government and public health authorities to share appropriate guidance to our staff and customers.

Hygiene is our highest priority

We have introduced an enhanced cleanliness regime to reduce the risk of pathogens spreading. We are now taking extra steps to ensure that our dealerships are maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness by including regular cleaning of door handles, public areas and work stations.

All of our dealerships will be supplied with additional sanitising materials including products to ensure that all of our vehicles are kept clean to the very highest standards. All dealerships have made every endeavour to hold stock of and actively use hand–sanitiser. If for reasons beyond our control our stock of hand sanitiser run out we will look for alternative cleansing agents.

Along with our exceptionally high quality valeting, we will be sanitising vehicles after each test drive including cleaning steering wheels and door handles. We have also increased the regularity of cleaning at our dealerships. Our service teams will be carrying out work using Personal Protective Equipment including gloves.

If you notice anything at our sites that you think deserves our attention, please do share your concerns with our staff who will be quick to respond.

Visiting a Dealership

Our business is open as usual. If you are visiting us in the coming days and weeks, we ask that you adhere to these suggestions:

  • If you are feeling unwell and show any of the symptoms of COVID-19, we would like to ask that you do not book an appointment to attend our sites until you are feeling better.
  • Avoid handshakes.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
  • Place tissues in the bin after use.
  • Wash your hands at regular intervals, including the wrists.

Our customer service and sales teams are keen to help you as much as possible over the phone, or via email so please do use these methods of communication if an in-person visit isn't possible.

Dealership Staff

Whilst we are, as always, delighted to see customers, please don't be offended that we won't be shaking hands and will be keeping a safe distance, to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus. In some cases we may not be able to offer drinks or refreshments as we would normally, but instead we will offer you hand sanitiser and facilities to wash your hands during your visit.

If you're visiting us for a sale or part exchange, please bring the following documentation with you to reduce the likelihood of a return visit:

For Purchase:

  • - Driving Licence
  • - Utility Bill*
  • - Passport*

*Paper licence holders only

For Part-Exchange:

  • - V5 Logbook
  • - Service book
  • - MOT certificate

We can come to you

During this stressful time we want to make things as easy as possible. Did you know that we offer a collection and delivery service for purchases and part-exchange, as well as vehicles that are coming to us for routine maintenance? However, we will be prioritising our collection and delivery services to the over 70's and vulnerable where required. Under some circumstances, this may mean that younger customers may need to bring their vehicles to us. Please contact a member of staff for details.

We understand we have many customers who fall into the over 70's and vulnerable category, we would like to help where we can. If you are self-isolating and are struggling to get assistance please ask the team at Speedwell, we can't guarantee we will have sufficient workforce to assist but will do everything we can to assist in an emergency where we can and where necessary.

The safety and well-being of our customers and local community is, and always will be, our highest priority.
